The sponsorship lands as Ireland's American football programme faces a full 2027 calendar

[DUBLIN, 7th Oct] – The Irish Wolfhounds will take the field in Edinburgh on Sunday 11 October with a new sponsor, as the U19s and senior team face Scotland in a double-header at Meggetland Sports Complex. Data & AI Literacy Academy is sponsoring the team as the sport and the business builds its presence in the Irish market.

Nearly 48,000 fans packed the Aviva Stadium for NCAA college football in 2024. The Wolfhounds are building the route for people who want to go from watching to playing including a coaches' clinic and player workout in December ahead of their full 2027 calendar.

Data & AI Literacy Academy already knows the other side of that story. It works with enterprise businesses, including Aer Lingus, the airline behind the Dublin college football games, to help their people build data skills through live education and its OnDemand learning platform. That reaches everyone from cabin crew and baggage handlers to business leaders.

Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships. American football is one of the most data-heavy sports there is, with every play planned, measured and reviewed. Data & AI Literacy Academy teaches organisations to work with data and AI the same way, a skill Irish employers need as the EU AI Act takes effect.

Greg Freeman, CEO and Founder, Data & AI Literacy Academy, said:

"American football runs on data. Coaches plan every play, measure it and learn from it, and that's the habit we help organisations build with AI. Ireland is where we want to grow, and backing a programme with big plans of its own felt like the right way to arrive."

Coach Riq Ayub, Wolfhounds Director of Kitted Football, said:

"This is a great time for Irish Wolfhounds and American football in Ireland. Interest in the game here keeps growing, and we want to give people a path onto the pitch, from December's clinic to a busy 2027 season. We're excited to have the Data & AI Literacy Academy alongside us as we do it."
