‍Monica Jones is a seasoned data leader, having worked across various industries for decades. She's currently the CEO of Animo Consultancy.

As the former Chief Data Officer at the University of Leeds, her main focus was writing the university's Data Strategy and setting up a central Data Service. She began her career as a British Army officer in the Royal Army Educational Corps, then moved after 17 years into national, regional and frontline roles in the NHS and cancer research.

At The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust she led business intelligence and analytics from ward to board, and the Trust was rated Outstanding for Digital in 2019. She was previously CDO of DATA-CAN, the Health Data Research UK hub for cancer, and is an expert in clinical terminology and data standards including SNOMED CT and HL7 FHIR. She also contributed to the Department of Health and Social Care's Data Saves Lives policy.
