Head of Customer Communications
About Us
Join us and work with some of the world's most ambitious businesses to embed data & AI literacy at scale. At Data & AI Literacy Academy, we transform how people connect with data, making it accessible, relevant and empowering for every enterprise employee. Joining Data & AI Literacy Academy means being part of a mission-led team helping individuals and organisations unlock their potential through confidence, culture and clarity.
About the Role
As Head of Communications, you'll own how we communicate with learners, clients, and internal teams across every programme we deliver - from onboarding through to renewal. This is a broader remit than a traditional comms role: alongside owning our communications strategy and content, you'll bring change management expertise to help clients' organisations adopt new ways of working, and you'll take ownership of the events and communities that bring our programmes to life - from graduations to ongoing data & AI communities of practice.
You'll lead a Communications Executive and a Communities of Practice Manager, and work closely with the Director of CX, Project Managers, and Learner Success to make sure every touchpoint - communications, change, events, and community - reflects our mission and supports strong client outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Own our communications strategy across client and learner-facing programmes, from onboarding through to renewal
- Design and deliver change management approaches that help client organisations adopt new data & AI ways of working, embedding our education
- Plan and deliver events - including programme graduations, launches, and client-facing showcases
- Oversee communities of practice delivery and implementation, ensuring learners stay engaged and connected beyond programme delivery
- Lead, coach, and develop a Communications Executive and a Communities of Practice Manager, setting priorities and reviewing quality of output
- Partner with Project Managers and Learner Success to align comms, change, event, and community activity with delivery timelines
- Develop messaging, templates, and playbooks that can scale consistently across accounts
- Act as a senior point of contact for clients on communications, change, events, and community matters
- Continuously improve how we measure the impact of communications, change initiatives, events, and communities of practice
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior communications role, ideally in a client-facing or professional services environment
- Demonstrable change management experience, supporting organisations through periods of transition or adoption
- Experience planning and delivering events, including graduations or milestone celebrations, from small learner-facing sessions to larger client showcases
- Experience building or running communities of practice or similar engagement programmes
- Experience managing or developing a team, ideally with more than one direct report
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable working with senior stakeholders
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach, comfortable owning a broad and evolving remit
Our Values
Our values shape how we show up - for each other, for our customers, our learners, and for the future of data & AI literacy. Our success isn't down to one or two people, but everyone. We constantly look for ways to take responsibility to help drive the growth of the business, even if it's outside our comfort zone.
