If you went looking for AI literacy education recently, there's a good chance you didn't find us, even though we’ve been delivering it for some time. That's the honest reason behind today's name change.

What started as data literacy education expanded naturally into AI literacy education as the two became inseparable in practice. Our core offering takes modern business professionals through everything they need to understand, engage with and apply AI confidently in their role, from foundational AI concepts and ethics through to decision-making with AI and responsible scaling.

For organisations looking to go further, we offer pathways that cover the more advanced territory such as agentic AI, generative AI and prompting, and specialist content for leaders and data professionals navigating AI adoption at a strategic level. From today, we're Data & AI Literacy Academy.

Why this matters right now

The timing reflects something broader. Deloitte's 2026 State of AI in the Enterprise report identifies the AI skills gap as the single biggest barrier to AI integration, ahead of technology, data quality, and budget. Research done by YouGov found that organisations with mature data and AI literacy programmes are nearly twice as likely to report significant AI ROI. Yet only one in three business leaders say they have a programme in place.

The gap isn't technical. Most organisations have invested in the roll-out, the Copilot licenses, the ChatGPT and Claude subscriptions, the AI-enabled platforms. What they haven't invested in is the human capability to not just use them, but use them to their full potential.

What we've always believed

Access to AI tools is not the same as AI literacy. People need to be confident in knowing when to apply them, how to interrogate the output and how to make better decisions based on those results. These are skills that require deliberate investment. They're also skills that sit downstream of something more fundamental: the ability to think clearly about data.

That's why we've never separated data literacy and AI literacy as disciplines. You need to be data literate so your AI initiative has accurate data to work with, and you need to know how to prompt the AI on the data and be able to evaluate and scrutinise the output. Data literacy is the foundation. AI literacy is what you build on top of it. You can't shortcut the first to get to the second. An employee who can't evaluate a dataset isn't ready to evaluate an AI output. One builds on the other, and both require education that goes beyond a mandatory one-size-fits-all training session.

It's what we've been building into workforce programmes for years, but our name wasn't making that obvious.

What this means for our clients

Nothing changes for the organisations we already work with. Same team, same programmes, same people. The name is the only thing that's different, and if you're an existing client reading this, you'll have already heard from us directly.

For anyone finding us for the first time: welcome. If you've been searching for AI literacy training and keep landing on providers who feel more like tech vendors than learning partners, we're worth a conversation.

We're just easier to find now.
