Community & Events Executive
Role Purpose
As the Community & Events Manager at Data Literacy Academy, you will play a central role in building thriving, engaged learner communities that go far beyond the classroom. You will be responsible for designing and delivering impactful learner engagement strategies that foster communities of practice, peer collaboration, and long-term impact.
This role is perfect for someone who loves curating spaces (both digital and in-person) where people can connect, learn, and grow. You’ll be responsible for leading community development initiatives, facilitating knowledge sharing across cohorts, and producing meaningful touch points such as media days, community events, and alumni engagement.
Reporting into the Head of Learner Success, you’ll also play a key role in shaping the learner journey, supporting change management, and ensuring that our customers feel a strong sense of belonging and shared purpose throughout their experience with us.
Key Responsibilities
Community Development & Engagement
- Design and implement a learner community strategy across cohorts, customers, and regions
- Facilitate regular learner meetups, forums, and themed discussion events to drive ongoing engagement
- Launch and nurture communities of practice aligned to specific learning outcomes
- Manage digital community spaces (e.g. Slack) to encourage peer-to-peer sharing
Event & Media Experience Management
- Plan and deliver high-impact virtual and in-person events including welcome sessions, showcases, media days, and roundtables
- Coordinate cross-functional input (from Education, Marketing, and Customer teams) to ensure events run smoothly
- Develop event content and brief speakers, moderators, or facilitators
- Work with internal teams to embed event outputs into client engagement and change management plans
Learner Journey Support
- Collaborate with Education and Customer teams to embed community milestones into our learner experience
- Support the design of onboarding and alumni engagement experiences through events and community formats
- Monitor engagement levels and learner feedback to refine programming over time
Tools & Skills
Essential
- Experience designing or managing community engagement programmes (ideally in a learning or customer success context)
- Proven track record of running digital or in-person events from planning to execution
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with stakeholders
- Well-organised, proactive, and resourceful
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with existing community platforms (e.g. Slack & Notion)
- Background in learning, customer success, or mission-driven organisations
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
