About Us

At Data Literacy Academy we believe that data literacy is for everyone. We’re not just delivering courses; we’re transforming how people think about and engage with data, building confident, capable teams in every sector. As a fast-growing EdTech company, our mission is to make data accessible, relatable and actionable across all roles. We design and deliver dynamic, role-specific programmes that empower individuals to use data meaningfully in their everyday decisions.

This position focuses on accelerating deals already in progress, ensuring opportunities move forward efficiently and that commercial work is properly structured to drive predictable revenue outcomes. It serves as an excellent stepping stone toward full-cycle Account Executive roles, Customer Success leadership or strategic commercial positions within the organisation.

As part of the Commercial Enablement function, you'll work closely with the Commercial Enablement Lead whilst building deep commercial expertise across our client lifecycle.

Salary

£28,000 base salary + commission

What this role is

This is an entry-level, client-facing commercial role designed for someone early in their career who wants to learn how sales, enablement, and delivery work together in a real business. You will not be doing cold calling or high-volume outbound sales. Instead, you’ll support live sales opportunities that are already in progress and help move them forward. Think of this role as sitting between sales and delivery:

  • Sales teams bring opportunities in
  • Delivery teams deliver the work
  • You help connect the dots so deals progress smoothly and clients get the right solution

What this role is not

To be clear, this role is not:

  • A cold-calling or outbound SDR role
  • A purely administrative or internal-only role
  • A role where you’re expected to already know how enterprise sales works

We’re hiring for potential and mindset, not prior sales experience.

What you’ll actually do day to day

On a typical week, you might:

  • Join client calls to understand what a customer is trying to achieve
  • Help prepare proposals, slide decks, or written summaries for clients
  • Work with internal teams to shape solutions and timelines
  • Track active deals and follow up on next steps so nothing stalls
  • Keep CRM notes up to date so the wider team has visibility
  • Support senior commercial team members in meetings or presentations

You’ll gradually take on more responsibility as your confidence and understanding grow.

What you’ll learn

This role is designed to help you build broad commercial skills, including:

  • How sales conversations work beyond initial outreach
  • How deals move from first conversation to signed agreement
  • How to communicate value to clients
  • How to manage multiple stakeholders and timelines
  • How commercial decisions impact delivery and customer success

You’ll gain exposure to the full commercial cycle, not just one part of it.

Who this role is well suited to

This role is a good fit if you:

  • Are early in your career (graduate or career changer)
  • Enjoy learning how businesses work
  • Are organised and like keeping things moving
  • Communicate clearly and confidently
  • Are comfortable speaking with clients and internal teams
  • Want long-term career progression in commercial, customer success, or delivery roles

Experience in sales is not required. Curiosity, work ethic, and coachability are.

Where this role can take you

You’ll work closely with the Commercial Enablement Lead and be supported by experienced commercial colleagues.

Strong performers typically progress into roles such as:

  • Senior Commercial Enablement
  • Account Executive
  • Customer Success / Client Advisory
  • Delivery or programme leadership

We focus on feedback, learning, and gradual ownership rather than throwing people in at the deep end.

Why join Data Literacy Academy

  • Learn commercial skills in a real, client-facing environment
  • Get exposure to meaningful, high-impact work early in your career
  • Work remotely with flexibility and autonomy
  • Be part of a growing company with clear progression opportunities
  • Build a foundation for long-term commercial or customer-facing roles
