Data Literacy Academy is dedicated to bridging the data skills gap by empowering enterprises with comprehensive Data Literacy education. We offer change management, live and online classes delivered by industry data leaders and self-served learning, enabling organisations to cultivate a data-informed workforce and drive measurable business outcomes.

Purpose of the Role:

As a Learning Designer at Data Literacy Academy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experiences that underpin our mission to advance data literacy across enterprises. This critical position combines instructional design expertise, creativity, and collaboration to develop and deliver world-class learning solutions that inspire and empower professionals to become confident, data-informed decision-makers.

You will be at the heart of our educational development process, translating complex concepts provided by Subject Matter Experts into engaging, impactful learning materials. By ensuring the seamless integration of pedagogy, visual storytelling, and cutting-edge instructional design techniques, you will directly contribute to the success of our programmes, fostering high-quality learning experiences that meet the unique needs of diverse business audiences.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful impact in a fast-growing organisation. Working closely with SMEs, graphic designers, and programme managers, you will help craft a dynamic portfolio of educational resources that spans foundational data literacy to advanced analytics. Your contributions will be instrumental in scaling our educational offerings, enhancing their quality, and supporting the growth of Data Literacy Academy as a leader in this critical field. You will be a leading voice and have creative license to influence change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use AI and LLMs (gemini, ChatGPT, Claude) critically to design and develop class decks, supporting materials, and revision summaries using SME-provided scripts, ensuring alignment with learning objectives.
  • Create interactive class activities tailored to diverse learner needs, leveraging principles of instructional design.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through assessments, learner feedback, educator feedback loops and measurable outcomes from data insights, iterating as needed.
  • Manage branding and visual standards, coordinating with the Design team to meet delivery expectations and deadlines.
  • Research and apply innovative instructional design methods and technologies, such as gamification, microlearning, or adaptive learning platforms to enhance our current approaches and scope new opportunities for the future (with our Innovation Lead).
  • Support the facilitation of workshops or discussions to extract and refine content from SMEs, ensuring clarity and coherence.
  • Confidently communicate the rationale behind design decisions to internal and external stakeholders
  • Deliver high-quality content at pace while maintaining accuracy and alignment with curriculum standards, of which you will be instrumental in improving.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong background in instructional design, utilising frameworks like ADDIE or SAM, and a solid understanding of adult learning theories.
  • You’ve got strong AI skills and enjoy experimenting with AI in Learning Design
  • Can translate content written by SMEs into dynamic content with minimal support
  • Excels in transforming SME-provided content into engaging, interactive learning experiences with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of / or a willingness to learn new e-learning tools and technologies such as Articulate Storyline and Synthesia.
  • Is experienced in creating content for delivery across multiple formats, including live and asynchronous learning
  • Is comfortable collaborating with diverse teams, including SMEs, graphic designers, and developers, to deliver cohesive learning solutions.
  • Has strong attention to detail and the ability to balance quality with the demands of tight deadlines.
  • Is proficient in Google Suite and other content development tools.

We’d especially love to meet you if:

  • You are passionate about data and data literacy (experience using BI tools are a huge advantage)
  • You have previous teaching experience, preferably to adults
  • You have strong Excel skills and experience with CoPilot
  • You have a STEM, Psychology or background in highly analytical domain
