Associate Data Analyst
Role Purpose
As an Associate Data Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting data-driven decision-making across Data Literacy Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to apply analytical thinking, statistical techniques, and emerging data science skills to real-world business challenges.
You will work with a variety of datasets to uncover insights, support internal teams, and contribute to improving how we use data across the organisation. From analysing trends and building dashboards to experimenting with machine learning techniques, you will develop a well-rounded analytical skillset while delivering meaningful impact.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help translate data into actionable insights that shape business decisions, improve processes, and enhance outcomes across our programmes.
This role is designed as a development pathway into a Data Analyst/Data Scientist, with opportunities to grow technical capability in Python, statistics, AI and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities
Analyse and interpret data
- Explore, clean, and analyse datasets from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights
- Apply statistical techniques to support data interpretation and decision-making
- Translate data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Apply statistical and machine learning techniques
- Use foundational statistical methods to analyse and interpret data
- Support exploratory use of machine learning techniques (e.g. regression, classification, clustering) where appropriate
- Contribute to experimentation and hypothesis-driven analysis
- Explore the use of AI tools and techniques (e.g. generative AI, automation, or predictive approaches) to enhance analysis
Support business decision-making
- Partner with internal teams to understand data needs and deliver analytical solutions
- Present findings in a clear and compelling way to inform business strategy and operations
Improve data quality and processes
- Support data collection, cleaning, and validation processes to ensure high data quality
- Collaborate with technical teams to optimise data access
Tools & Skills
Essential
- Strong analytical mindset with an ability to solve problems using data
- Understanding of core statistical concepts (e.g. distributions, hypothesis testing, correlation)
- Exposure to AI, including machine learning techniques (e.g. regression, classification, clustering)
- Exposure to common data tools (e.g. Python, BI tools, or SQL)
- Ability to clean, manipulate, and analyse datasets
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain insights clearly to non-technical audiences
- Proactive attitude towards learning and development
Nice to Have
- Advanced experience with BI tools (e.g. Sigma, Power BI, Tableau)
- Advanced experience with Python (e.g. pandas, numpy) through academic or personal projects
- Advanced experience with SQL for querying data
- Understanding of data modelling or data warehousing concepts
